Foaled in 2002, Squire was retained at the renowned Asgard Stud in Wisconsin, to be used as a breeding stallion. Circumstances with the owners prevented that and so we were fortunate in being able to purchase Squire in November 2019. In 2020 we bred him to seven mares for his first breeding season at 18 years old. We were pleased to find that all of the mares conceived and delivered healthy foals April/May 2021. Photos of the foals will be posted as they become available. Squire has had two more healthy foal crops since 2021 and is booked for a few mares for next year, 2024.
Squire is by the very well known Meadowlawn Squire, a many times Champion at Welsh breed shows who sired many very beautiful foals. Squire is out of Asgard Sand Dollar, a daughter of Twyford Dollar Money. His pedigree shows ponies from the Texas stud, Ceulan, and Coed Coch on the sire's side. And on the dam side there are Twyford, Clan, Criban, and again Coed Coch.
Squire is a very beautiful and charismatic pony. He inherited his sire's extravagant movement and is breathtaking to watch as he runs and plays in his pasture. He was born palomino before turning grey. He stands 12.0 5/8 and has a very upright carriage.
