Hobbit was foaled in 2002 from two imported parents, sire *Nantdywyll Capten, dam *Weston Daylight. We leased Hobbit to breed to some of our mares for two years, and then we liked him and his foals so much that we purchased him.
Hobbit stands at 11.3 and he is a unique sooty buckskin roan. Many of his foals are roan (buckskin, bay, palomino) and many are buckskin. Hobbit passes his great temperament to his foals. They are all friendly, pocket ponies. Hobbit attended some shows with his breeder in his younger years and earned several Championships.
Even at the age of 21, in 2023, Hobbit likes to kick up his heels with his antics as he plays in his pasture. See photos below. Hobbit has great Welsh Pony movement. He has proper conformation and is very typey with his beautiful head, tiny ears, and gaily carried tail. We have been very pleased with his progeny and have retained two of his fillies for breeding stock.
