Missy is one of two new mares at The Willows. She is one of our larger mares at just a bit under 12 hands. Missy was bred by Paul Hurd and also trained to drive by him. She was born bay roan and turned gray. She has no show record nor has she had any foals, but when I went to look at her herd mate, Muse, my eyes were drawn to Missy as well. She has a lovely head with a huge soft eye. She is very solid with good bone and a big "motor" in the rear. In addition to good conformation, she has a super sweet temperament. She's at the bottom on the hierarchy in the herd, but with people she is trusting, curious, responsive, and kind. We think she may also make a good child's pony and will put that to the test once we get to know her better. If no one reserves her for Design-A-Foal for 2021 we will breed her for a foal for ourselves. We really believe in this mare and expect her to have outstanding foals. She has the blend of temperament and conformation that we desire in a broodmare. Check back in the spring (May) for updated photos and a video of her in harness.
